Parent Updates

The following is very important information if you are intending to claim the 30 hours extended free entitlement funding from September 2018:

In order to claim this funding from September, you will need to go online and check your eligibility as soon as possible.
HMRC have created an online eligibility checker for parents/carers at:
Applying should take you 20 minutes and all the information you need is stated on the web page above.

Parents who are eligible will be given an 11 digit reference number which you will need to provide to your chosen childcare provider(s), who will then validate the reference number and offer you a funded space if available.

You will need to have been given your reference number by 31st August 2018 to be able to claim for the extended 30 hours funding from September.
If you have not checked your eligibility and received your reference number by this date, you will not be eligible for the extended 30 hours funding for the coming term.

We have been informed that some eligibility applications are taking a number of weeks to be confirmed by HMRC, so we advise you to go online and check your own eligibility as soon as possible.

This only affects parents wishing to claim the 30 hours extended funding entitlement. From September this will be available to working parents who individually earn the minimum income equivalent of 16 hours at the National Minimum Wage and up to a maximum income equivalent of £100k. Eligibility for the 30 hours needs to be checked by the parent/carer every 3 months to remain in receipt of funding.

This does not affect parents wishing to claim the 15hrs universal funding entitlement, which is available to all children over 3yrs of age.

Preparing for School

We are pleased to confirm that the very successful Tuesday afternoon Preparing for School sessions will run for the whole of 2018/2019. Primarily aimed at children due to go to school in September 2019, but open to all children, this session runs every Tuesday afternoon from 12 noon to 3pm. In these sessions we will introduce the children to the routines they will encounter when they start school. This will involve more formalised learning, with tasks based on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, but with a continued emphasis on learning through play. Children are welcome to join at any time through the year. To find more information please look under the About Us menu.
